25 | On 12/6/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lillian Casillas conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection; LPA was met by Licensee, Elba Stitzel, and explained the purpose of the visit. LPA observed 6 children in care and 1 assistant (cleared and associated). Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
During today's inspection, LPA conducted a tour of the inside and outside of the facility. This is two-story single family home with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. LPA entered the property through the side gate. Childcare is provided in the rear area of the home, which includes two bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Bedroom 1 is dedicated to learning and play. LPA observed age appropriate toys, learning materials, children's tables and chairs, games and activities for children in care. The first-aid kit, 2A10:BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke/carbon monoxide detector are located in this room. LPA also observed a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, and dishwasher. Licensee stated snacks and meals are cooked in the kitchen inside the main house, which is off-limits to children in care. All furniture was found in good repair, clean and without hazards. Bedroom 2 is used for napping and includes bathroom 1. In bathroom 1, LPA observed 1 toilet, 1 sink, and 1 shower/bath tub free of shampoos and soaps. The backyard is large and includes age-appropriate toys and play equipment with shade and astroturf. Climbing structures, swings, slides and other large play equipment is found to be securely anchored with adequate resilient cushioning material underneath and around the perimeter.
Outdoor Off-Limits: The attached garage is made inaccessible as it can only be accessed via the main house. Licensee stated children do not utilize the front yard.
Facility is currently providing care to infants for 12 months of age. Facility was observed to be operating within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. LPA reviewed Licensee's file to be complete: CPR and Pediatric First-Aid expires 5/2023 and Mandated Reporter training is current. LPA reviewed a sample of 3 children’s files and observed files were complete. [CONTINUE ON PAGE 2] |
