25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laticia Thompson conducted an unannounced case management inspection on 7/26/2023 at 12:18p.m. and met with Marcia Martinez, Director of Operations, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA observed 22 children with 7 staff upon arrival.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCC’s) constructed before January 1,2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every five years after the date of the first test.
On 04/04/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Suzette Ornelas conducted a visit to the facility to address an Action Lead Exceedance (ALE) found in spigot “J" and "N”. On 10/20/22 Spigot “J” was tested with an exceedance level of 14ppb and "N" Tested at 11. A retest was conduted on 02/14/2023 "J” was tested with an exceedance level of 14ppb and "N" Tested at 7.7. The facility was cited on 04/4/2023. The Director stated that parts had been ordered and would be replaced or capped off, and re-tested by a certified external water sampler.
Spigot J and N were repaired with stainless steel parts and their water was retested on 06/02/2023, however, the new re-test yielded both spigots exceedance of "J" 6.8ppb and N at of 6.3ppb.
