25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susann Sanchez conducted an unannounced random inspection. LPA met with Deyanria Sanchez, Lead Teacher who guided analyst on tour of facility. This is a preschool program which consists of three classrooms; RM 110 Sunflowers, RM 114 Poppies, and RM 116 Dandelions . This facility is located on CSUDH Facility operationing hours are from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Fridays 7:30 to 3:00 PM.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Children (16 children) from room 110 & 114 were outside in the yard with 4 staff members. Children (4 children) in room 116 were in the outside garden with 2 staff member.
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that may pose a danger to children, were observed to be inaccessible and are kept in a locked closet in each classroom restroom. Per Lead Teacher states that there are no poisons in the facility. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe.
All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents.
Napping equipment and bedding was inspected for good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. Storage for children's belongings was inspected. Facility washes all linens on Fridays and parents take children's blankets home to wash. There is Laundry equipment in the the adult restroom. This area is inaccessible to children.
