25 | An Informal Office meeting was conducted today to discuss concerns the Department has regarding the above facility. Present at this meeting were Director, Lissett Avila, Arpi Idolor, Board Trustee, Claudia Guangorena, Licensing Program Manager, and Judy Mora, Licensing Program Analyst.
The Following was discussed:
· Personal Rights. On 01/30/19, a Complaint Investigation was Substantiated when staff indicated that they did not notify the Director of biting incident until after more than 20 biting incidents from one child.
· Observation of a Child. On 01/30/19, during the same Complaint Investigation it was found that based on the number of biting incidents which occurred, it was determined that staff was not properly observing the child which led to an inappropriate number of biting interactions between the child and other children.
The Director will be required to view the following videos on the Department website at https://ccld.childcarevideos.org/
- Children’s Personal Rights in a Child Care Center
- Supervising Children in Child Care Centers
- Reporting Requirements
The Director will also be required to provide an In Service training to all staff in regards to the topics above. The Director will be required to submit copies of an agenda, materials used for the training and a staff sign in sheet by 12/03/19.
