25 | An announced Case Management site inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green and LPA Lissette Gonzalez to inspect and measure facility for capacity determination. Licensee is seeking to add a toddler option to the preschool license and decrease preschool capacity. Licensing staff met with Program Manager, Joycelyn Tucker, who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. This proposed Toddler Option program will operate from Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
At 1:10 PM Licensing staff was guided through a tour of the preschool facility both indoors and outdoors and for the proposed toddler option areas. The facility is currently closed and there are no children in care at this time, therefore LPAs did not observe any children. LPAs were taken on tour of the proposed room for the Toddler Option and the designated outdoor area. LPAs observed the toddler classroom area to be physically separate from the Preschool classrooms. However, LPAs observed the proposed toddler restroom to be located in a common area that is also used by preschoolers without a physical barrier of separation in the preschool classroom leading to the restroom.
LPAs observed a fire extinguisher and functioning carbon monoxide detector in the facility. LPAs observed portable drinking water with disposable cups available in the classroom. There are age appropriate toys available for children in care. There is a kitchen area located near the restroom that will be available for meal and snack preparation. The main office will be used as the designated ill isolation area for sick children. The staff restroom will be used for ill children. Licensee will provide food for the children via Chefables which delivery will be daily. There is adequate shade in outdoor play area. LPAs observed the shade tent to be missing four (4) pole cushion wrap/pads.
