25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janeth Chavez conducted an unannounced Annual Required inspection. LPA met with designated facility Director, Laura Hernandez, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility indoors and outdoors. This facility operates Monday-Friday from 6:30am-8:00pm. This facility has 71 preschoolers and 18 toddlers. This facility has a capacity of 89 children. There are 63 children present and 11 staff in the playground. Teacher-child ratio is met. There is also an infant center on site with license # 191806530. All adults present have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption on file. Per the Director there are 63 children enrolled.
All areas used by the children were inspected. This program consists of 5 classrooms: Toddler 1, Toddler 2, Preschool 1, Preschool 2 and Pre-K. Upon arrival, LPA observed 12 toddlers with 5 staff in the toddler playground; 51 preschoolers with 7 staff in the preschoolers’ playground. Please note that all playgrounds are physically separate by a fence from the toddler’s playground. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 regulations. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. The floors in each classroom were observed to be clean. Napping equipment was inspected for good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. The children sleep in mats in their designated rooms. Sufficient storage for children's belongings were observed. As per Director, the office is used as an isolation area.
Toys were observed to be clean. Director stated that the facility provides breakfast, hot lunch, AM & PM snacks, and a dinner snack for the children enrolled in the program. LPA observed the toilets and sinks in operable condition, clean and sanitary in each classroom. Snack and lunch menus were observed to be posted. LPA observed indoor drinking water available via water jugs in each classroom. LPA also observed outdoor drinking water via water jugs and Dixie cups available for children to drink freely as they wish. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children.
