25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Rita Ramos and Roxana Lopez conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. LPAs met with Rhonda Pannell, Principal, who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program which consists of 4 classrooms; Room 1, Room 2, Room 3, and Room 4. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
All areas identified on this report were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection: Room 1: Staff #1, #2, #3, and #4 with 20 preschoolers; Room 2: Staff #4, #5 #6, Staff #7, #8, #9, and #10, with 41 preschoolers; Room 3: Staff #11, #12, #13, and #14 with 20 preschoolers; and Room 4: Staff #15, #16, and #17 with 19 preschoolers. The following was observed during the tour of the facility:
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are washed weekly by a laundry service. Napping equipment (cots & mats) were observed in a separate storage room. Per Principal, the isolation area is located in the staff lounge by the office. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Upon inspecting all classrooms, LPAs observed that they do not have indoor drinking water readily available and accessible to children in care. LPAs advised the Principal that drinking water needs to be available to children in each classroom.
Upon inspecting the classrooms, LPAs observed that each classroom is missing electric outlet covers. Room 2 was observed to have Clorox wipes left on a shelf, and Room 4 had a bucket of water left on the floor. LPAs advised the Principal that all electrical outlets need to be covered, Clorox wipes need to be stored high, and there should be no buckets of water left within reach to children in care. Per Principal, there are no poisons stored at the facility.
