25 | An announced case management site inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green and LPA Lissette Gonzalez to inspect and measure facility for capacity determination. Licensee is seeking to add a toddler option to the preschool license. Licensing staff met with Program Manager, Joycelyn Tucker, who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. This proposed Toddler Option program will operate from Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
At 10:40 AM Licensing staff was guided through a tour of the preschool facility both indoors and outdoors and the proposed toddler option classroom. The facility is currently closed and there are no children in care at this time, therefore LPAs did not observe any children. LPAs was taken on tour of the (2) proposed rooms for the Toddler Option and the designated outdoor area for Toddler Option. LPAs observed the area to be physically separated from the Preschool classrooms. However, LPAs observed the proposed toddler restroom to be located in the preschool classroom without physical separation barriers. LPAs inspected this area and observed it to be free of immediate hazards. There is a fire extinguisher and functioning carbon monoxide detector in the facility. LPAs observed portable drinking water with deposable cups available in the classroom. There are age appropriate toys available for children in care. There is a kitchen area located near the preschool classroom that will be available for meal and snack preparation. The main office will be used as the designated ill isolation area for sick children. The staff restroom will be used for ill children. Licensee will provide food for the children via Chefables which will be delivered daily. There is adequate shade in outdoor play area. All areas around or under high climbing equipment and slides are cushioned with material to absorb a fall.
Based on measurements taken today, capacity for the proposed Toddler Option will be ten (10) toddlers and Preschool will be reduced to the capacity of twenty (20).
