25 | At 9:15 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Saul Valenzuela conducted an unannounced required inspection. A risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. LPA met with Angelica Villa Principal, who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a LAUSD preschool program located on the same block as Rosemont Avenue Elementary School. Per Principal there are 79 children currently enrolled.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The following staff was present during this inspection: Room # 1: Staff #1, Staff #2 and Staff # 3 with 12 children- Room # 2A & 2B: Staff # 4, Staff # 5, Staff # 6, Staff # 7, Staff # 8, and Staff # 9 with 25 children- Room # 3A & 3B: Staff # 10, Staff # 11, Staff # 12, Staff #13, Staff # 14, Staff # 15 and Staff # 16 with 24 children. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. The licensed facility is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license.
LPA observed the facility to be clean, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment was inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Classrooms was inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. At this time, the staff lounge is used as an isolation area. A cot is brought in into the lounge- for child to use. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
