On 2/10/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dalicia Adkins, conducted a case management Incident inspection to follow up on the self reported incident that occurred at Sylvan Park Early Education Center the week of January 23, 2023. The El Segundo Child Care Office received the incident report via Telephone on and by FAX on January 31, 2023.
In the the unusual incident report (UIR) it was alleged that a child was inappropriately touched by another child.

LPA met with office manager Aide Santana, LPA explained the purpose of the visit and was granted entry into the facility. Principal Claudia Araujo arrived later and guided LPA on a tour of the facility. LPA observed 92 children and 20 staff members.

During today's visit LPA Adkins conducted classroom observations, interviewed principal, teachers and children. LPA collected and reviewed the following supportive documents: daily classroom schedule, parent handbook(Los Angeles School District), student schedule, sign in and out records, class roster, lesson plan (curriculum), children roster, and Sylvan Park Steam Early Education Center staff handbook. LPA also took pictures of the facility.
During the investigation there was no disclosure that a child was touched inappropriately by another child, therefore the facility will not be cited for the allegation reported in the UIR.

No deficiencies issued during the course of this investigation.

The notice of site visit must be posted for 30 days.
An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was given to Director Claudia Araujo.
