25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tiffanie Tran arrived at the above facility to conduct a Required 3 Year inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Principal and Site Director and about 9:00AM we toured the facility inside and outside. This is a ten month program, the hours of operation are 7:50AM - 3:00PM Monday - Friday. There is no extended care offered. Per Principal stated, class is currently being used in the Pre-K room serving 18 children. LPA observed children's restroom had two toilets and two sinks located inside the Pre-k class. During today's inspection, LPA did not observe any children in care due to summer break.
LPA observed all posting requirements for operation on the posting board LIC 203A-License, LIC 610 A-Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148-Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394-Notification of parent’s rights poster, LIC 613A- Personal Rights, PUB 269- Child Car Seat Law, Menus, Activity Schedule. Due to children are not in session therefore, no children and staff records were reviewed. LPA observed furniture and learning equipment were for age appropriateness and napping equipment are in good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Storage for children's belongings, bathrooms facilities, and isolation areas were inspected. Availability of drinking water by the used of water fountain and individual water bottle. First Aid supplies were inventoried. A review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records was made. Documentation of current Fire & Earthquake drill conducted every two months. Snack/lunch menus were posted. Food, snacks and lunches were delivered by the Elementary School daily. Parents also had option to provide their own food. The facility had separate outdoor space. LPA observed outdoor area had proper cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness equipment. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
