25 | LPA conducted an unannounced case management visit to the above mentioned facility on 11/17/2023. LPA began inspection at 11:20 AM and was met by Licensee, Maria Olid, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA observed 2 additional adult assistants and 6 children in care. Due to a language barrier, LPA request translator assistance with Language Link Representative Palomas ID#16239. The purpose of this inspection is to issue a Technical Violation under California Code of Regulations Section 102425(i).
During the inspection, LPA observed two infants sleeping on the floor on top of a U pillow. Per licensee, C1 just started. LPA advised licensee that children under two years old are considered infants. If infants fall asleep outside of a crib or play pen, then they must be moved to a crib or play pen immediately.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Maria Olid and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Maria Olid of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
