32 | Per licensee, no firearms are kept on premises. LPAs observed kitchen the counter tops were clean and free of clutter or standing food. Per licensee, food service is provided. Per licensee, overnight care is not provided at this time. Per licensee, transportation service is provided. LPAs discussed with licensee supervision and safety when providing transportation services.
LPAs reviewed 3 children’s files. LPAs observed one children’s file missing complete immunization records. A technical assistance violation issued. LPAs observed one infant’s file missing LIC9227 infant sleep plan form. A technical assistance violation issued. A review of staff records indicates that licensee and two staff has the following updated certificates: updated pediatric CPR/First Aid certificates with expiration date of 12/2024 and updated mandated reporter certificates with expiration date of 12/2024. Per staff record review, LPAs observed updated immunization records on file for measles, pertussis, influenza and TB clearance for licensee and staff 1, but missing for staff 2. A type B citation issued. LPAs reviewed the following documentation to be kept in facility: facility license, LIC610A, facility fire drill logs, PUB 394, and LIC9040.
Licensee Vizcarra was advised that regulation prohibits the smoking of tobacco in a private residence licensed as a family childcare home during the hours of operation. LPAs reviewed with Licensee Vizcarra items prohibited in FCCH, no baby bouncers, no infant walkers, No Johnny jumpers, no saucer chairs, and any other item that falls into that category are not permitted in the facility.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Vizcarra and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. |
