25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Annual/random inspection. Visit was conducted in Spanish. LPA met with licensee's assistant, Mara Verdin, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. The Licensee was not present at the time of arrival. There were 4 children present, 1 being an infant. Licensee's assistant states that there are currently 11 children enrolled, children's roster was reviewed and is current. Disaster drill log was available, last drill documented was 08/2019.
This is a duplex property. The licensed facility is the front house. The home consists of 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, laundry room, front and Backyards (fenced). The children use, one bedroom, living room, dining room and backyard for play. Off limit areas include: 2 bedrooms, Licensee's bathroom. The backyard is properly fenced. Family members residing in the home are 2 adults (criminal record clearances on file).
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating (wall ac) for safety and comfort. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in some areas of the home. LPA observed a bottle of disinfecting spray on the dining room table and a large bottle of Pine Sol in the laundry room. Licensee's assistant states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison mus be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. Emergency Disaster Plan was posted at the time of visit. Children’s records were reviewed to ensure that each child has an Identification and Emergency form. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged (serviced 03/14/19). Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in the dining room and bedroom were tested, and are in operable condition. The licensee has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR, which will expire 06/2021.
