32 | sliding glass door in the main care area was observed to lead to the backyard porch and into the backyard play area. LPA observed old furniture, broken glass, pointed screws on the ground, a planter bucket full of old rain water and several empty plastic bottles. LPA also observed the wooden fence to be partially broken. Per licensee, a car traveling in the alley way hit her fence causing it to be partially broken. LPA advised licensee that a citation under CCR section 102417(g) will be issued. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a landline . Per Licensee, the home is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. LPA did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs. No bodies of water were observed in the back yard play area. There are no pets on the premises. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Per licensee there are no infants enrolled to the day care.
The licensee has completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR, however the licensee's CPR expired on 03/12/22. LPA advised that a citation under CCR section 102416(c) will be issued. LPA observed that licensee does not have proof of the Mandated Reporter AB 1207 compliant Child Care Training Certificate on file. LPA advised that citation under Health and Safety Code section 1596.8662(b)(1) will be issued. Children’s records were reviewed, including emergency information
