32 | The facility provides snacks only. Menus were observed. The food preparation area is by the door leading to the playground. Sharp utensils are stored upstairs, inaccessible to children. Opened snack items are properly stored in air tight containers in the cabinet by Room K3. Trash cans used for solid waste disposal contain tight fitting lids. LPA observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks. The chemicals are kept separate from the food.. The preschool maintains a list of children with allergies and a copy is also kept in the child's classroom.
Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Fencing around the perimeter of the play area is at least 4 feet high. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents.
LPA conducted a Children's Records Review for completeness and to ensure children have proper forms such as Identification and Emergency forms, Immunization records, Health History, Personal Rights, Parents Rights on file. In all children's records reviewed were missing Physicians report. The children's roster was available and current. Staff Records were reviewed to ensure the following: Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, education credits required for Infant Care, current CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices, proof of immunization against pertussis and measles and influenza and/or flu declination, Mandated Reporter training. Director and staff did not have proof of a current CPR & First Aid training and Mandated Reporter Training.
