NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 01/30/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Risher conducted an Annual/Required Inspection for the school age license at above mentioned facility. LPA met with Laverne Wilson, Program Director . LPA toured the facility indoors and outdoors. The facility operates Monday-Friday 11:30am to 6pm. Facility is licensed for children from the age of 5 years old to 17 years old. One child arrived while LPA was conducting the inspection. The center provides after school services for children with developmental delays. The facility has 2 classrooms. The children do the following activities: reading, language arts, music, communication, story telling and playing. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. The isolation area is located next to the reading area. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Cleaning supplies are stored in a locked cabinet in the kitchen. No poisons were observed during the inspection. LPA observed first aid kits in the kitchen. Facility was observed to have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The facility provides snacks to the children in care. LPA observed snacks that are stored in the kitchen. Menus are posted at least one week in advance. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children have access to 1 boys & 1 girls bathroom.

Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA inspected the outside play area. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards.

LPA completed file reviews for children and staff which are complete. LPA observed more than one staff with current cpr and pediatric first aid certification. LPA reviewed disaster and fire drill logs which were current.

No deficiencies are cited today.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for
drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP).

LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
