25 | On August 15,2023 at 11:55 pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Angelica Wallin and Raul Navarro, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Demetra Carter. Hours of operation are from Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
This one-story home consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Areas used by the children include the day-care room, one restroom, kitchen and back yard. Per Licensee Carter, areas off limits to children include: 2 bedrooms, and the garage. There are 0 children present during time of inspection. Licensee Carter states that there are currently 3 children enrolled in the facility.
All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone and fax service. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. LPAs observed there no swimming pool or body of water.
Per licensee, no fire arm is kept on premises. LPAs observed kitchen the counter tops were clean and free of clutter or standing food. Per licensee, food service is provided.
Currently licensee cares for 2 infants. LPAs observed 1 play yards/cribs visible in daycare room and does not block entrances or exits. Infant mattress was observed to be firm with tightly fitted sheets with no loose objects or bumpers hanging, or attached to the cribs/play yards. There are currently no infants with pacifiers. Each infant has their own crib/ play yard and bedding. Bedding is washed weekly. LPA informed licensee of the new Safe sleep regulations, including LIC 9227 Infant Sleep Plan for infants under 12 months, 15-minute sleep check documentation for infants 0-24 months, and provided PIN 20-24-CCP.
