25 | On 10/11/2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Terri Lynne Phillips. LPA observed 6 children in care today with 1 Assistant. All adults have a criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are 24 hours. Licensee is aware that a staff shall remain awake whenever children are awake. The facility does not carry liability insurance.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry area and detached garage.
The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, bedroom #1, #2 (Classrooms), bathroom, front and back yard. The back yard has age appropriate toys.
The areas that are off limits to children: Kitchen, bedroom #3 and detached garage.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.
There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the laundry area. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has a 2 sided wall heater that iis screened and inaccessible to children. There are no stairs in the home. Safe toys, play equipment and napping equipment observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (323) 309-2781.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
