32 | LPA inspected and observed two clean bathrooms, for the boys (6 urinals, 5 toilets and 6 sinks) and for the girls bathroom (8 toilets and 7 sinks). Toilets and sinks are functioning properly and are age appropriate. LPA observed soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Additional sink is located in each classroom. Each classroom sink has there cleaning supplies underneath the sink which is locked during business hours. The sinks are utilized for children to be able to wash their hands.
Children are inspected for illnesses (wellness policy) as they arrive. LPA observed IMS policy plan for certain individual children in each classroom. I'll children are placed in the staff office while waiting for pick up.
Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. The play area is mostly concrete, there is a foam padding under the climbing apparatus. The area was observed to be free of debris. There is an area for shade and rest. Play area was inspected and found to be free of hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Large jungle gym is anchored. Water is provided in the form of an igloo cooler and disposable cups.
Facility serves Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack. Meals and snacks are provided by VOA main office and are refrigerated or kept in a warmer oven until served by a nutrition specialist. The fridge, microwave and warmer are located in the staff room, where there is an area sectioned off for food preparation. All food is labeled and stored properly. Allergies are listed on the fridge.
Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Fire/earthquake drills current. Roster current.
Teacher child ratios were observed and staff name recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate.
