25 | On 3/23/2021 at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Lillian Casillas conducted a virtual inspection with Christopher Jefferson, Vice President of YMCA via FaceTime. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children. Due to the COVID-19 State of Emergency, a Licensed Child Care Center Emergency Waiver was granted on 3/18/2021 for the facility to care for 12 children, ages 2 to 5 years old, from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Children will stay within the same cohort of no more than 14 children and will not commingle with other children. Children will participate in remote learning.
The facility will utilize 1 unlicensed classroom for childcare: group exercise studio.
Check-in will take place at a gate in front of the playground. The gate requires a code to enter/exit, making it inaccessible to children without the help of staff. Parents do not enter pass the check-in table. The check-in table includes hand sanitizer, masks, tissue, clean pens, and individual sign-in/sign-out sheets. LPA observed a parent board with all required documents by Community Care Licensing. Staff conducts a wellness check and takes the temperature of each child upon arrival. Staff documents the wellness check in the Well-Check Form used by all YMCA locations. If a child develops COVID-19 symptoms during the day, the child will rest outside in the playground or in the vacant office, which includes tables, chairs, and windows for staff to supervise the child safely The Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness.
In the Group Exercise Studio, LPA observed 6 tables, cubbies, a children's sofa, and a children's play area. This room is large. LPA also observed 2 fire alarms, and a fire sprinkler alarm system. Children are seated 2 to a table unless they are siblings.
