25 | On 10/17/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) V. Wheatley conducted an unannounced Required Annual Inspection. LPA met with director Ashley Ambrose and toured the entire facility. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm.
There is a swimming pool on the premises for the membership guest. The pool is located on the other side of the building which is inaccessible to the day care children. LPA observed disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe.
There is a kitchen on the premises however it is not used for the preschool. There is a sink, microwave and refrigerator in the classroom. The staff serve a morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks. The children bring their own lunches. LPA inspected the refrigerator and all food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. The children bring their own water bottles and if the water bottle is unavailable the staff provide bottled water.
LPA inspected the outdoor play space. The areas around high climbing equipment, and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
