32 | Although LPA’s did observe black slime growing in the school aged play yard, it is not considered to be harmful or toxic to the children and staff. Interviews conducted with staff, children and parents did not disclose any children getting ill from this natural organic environmental fungus. To prevent children from staining clothing or shoes staff will ensure that there is no black slime growing in the yard prior to engaging in outdoor play.
Therefore, Allegations -Neglect/Lack of Supervision and Physical Plant are deemed to be unsubstantiated. Finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged allegations occurred.
An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report, appeal rights and a notice of site visit were provided to facility.
