On 07/28/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh met with the licensee/director, Nancy Grunbok for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection .Upon arrival LPA and observed 37 sleeping preschool age children with 7 teachers including the facility licensee/director providing care and supervision. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.

LPA Alemoh toured and inspected the entire center, which consist of 3 classrooms, office/reception, a kitchen where snacks are prepared two separate children's bathrooms which were free of hazardous materials. Cubbies for children to place their belongings, as well as an area for children to hang their backpacks. LPA tested the water temperature and it was a safe temperature. Soap and paper towels are readily available for children to use. LPA observed a staff bathroom which is also utilize by children that become ill. LPA inspected two separated outdoor play yards. The younger preschoolers and older preschoolers have their own play areas. There are age appropriate toys available for children (little tikes cars, tricycles, sandboxes, picnic tables, slides and climbing structures (only on older preschoolers side)). LPA observed water pitchers with disposable cups in the classrooms and in the outdoor areas. Both outdoor play areas have shaded area. Per licensee stated that depending on weather conditions children eat indoors and outdoors.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. The center provides potty training. LPA observed a changing table for the younger preschool children. Bedding and linens were individually stored so that each child's bedding is identifiable, and no child's used bedding comes into contact with other bedding. On Fridays the parents take home the blankets to wash and clean.

There is a clean, kitchenette, that children have access to when walking to the bathroom, but is free of hazardous objects, kitchenette has a refrigerator with a freezer, microwave oven. LPA observed menus. Lunch is provided from an outside vendor, and snacks are provided by the facility. Two snacks and lunch is provided.

LPA Alemoh observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks that are properly stored in enclosed containers with lids. Cleaning solutions are stored on high selves and locked cabinets, which make them inaccessible to children in care.



There is a pet lizard in a cage on the premises.

Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. The parent board was reviewed and has all the required forms posted. Fire/earthquake drills current, last drill was conducted and are conducted every 3 months. There are 3 fire extinguishers 2A10BC on the premises in the office, last fire drill was conducted on 04/28/2023. LPA advised director to conduct an fire drill as soon as possible .

Children's records and staff records were reviewed and complete. Staff have completed the mandated reporter training about 2 years ago and will renew 07/2025.

LPA observed a fully stocked first aid kit; fully charged fire extinguishers; carbon monoxide detectors throughout the center. There is a Fire Drill/Earthquake log posted, and current Roster available.

The following general information was discussed during this inspection:

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Mandated Reporter Training Requirements: ยง1596.8662 - As of January 1, 2018, child care providers, administrators, or employees who work in a licensed facility shall complete the mandated reporter training provided pursuant to paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a), and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training. Staff was informed that they need to take mandated reporter training at www.mandatedreporterca.com

*All Licensing reports are available for review on-line and are considered public information. Summary: Assembly Bill 2621 added Section 1596.819 to the Health and Safety Code, to require the Department to post certain licensing information for CCCs and FCCHs on its public internet website.



The facility does not provide care to infants. Safe Sleep Regulations were discussed with licensee.

Fingerprint clearances and transfers: Prior to working or volunteering in a licensed childcare facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review shall obtain a clearance or criminal record exemption. If a fingerprint clearance has been obtained through the Department, Licensee may request a transfer of a criminal record clearance from one state licensed facility to another using form LIC 9184

**Parent Board contained all documents that are required to be posted according to Title 22 Regulations. Staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid (exp 06/01/2021/).

During this inspection this facility was incompliance and no deficiencies were observed. An exit interview conducted and a copy of this report was left at the facility. A copy of this report must be made available to the public for 3 years.
