25 | On January 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Miriam Cohen conducted an Annual Required inspection at Rosa Family Child Care Home, 197401376 located at 1372 Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro, CA 90731. Upon arrival, LPA observed 10 children under the care of licensee, Ruth Rosa, and two adult staff members. Per the Licensing Information System (LIS), all adults residing or working in the home have obtained criminal background clearances.
The following were observed during the inspection:
Walk Through
LPA did not observe any pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no weapons or firearms on premises. LPA observed all poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which can pose a threat to children in care made inaccessible. LPA observed fireplace with screened and barricaded to prevent access to children. LPA observed the home with fire extinguisher, smoke alarm, and carbon monoxide detector in good working condition which meet the State Fire Marshal standards. LPA observed home is kept clean and orderly with heating ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA did not observe staircases. LPA observed safe toys and play equipment and materials in good working condition. The outdoor play area is fenced appropriately and free from hazards.
Care and Supervision
LPA observed 10 children (two infants and eight preschoolers) present in the day care at the time of the inspection. LPA did not observe any children left in parked vehicles.
Administration
LPA observed licensee to have current Pediatric First Aid and CPR (expiration date is 01/2020). LPA observed the first aid kit to have adequate material. LPA discussed Incidental Medical Services with the licensee. LPA provided additional information pertaining to IMS. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. |
