On 8/4/ 2020 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Chandler made an announced visit to Wilshire Boulevard Temple preschool (located on the premises of Wilshire Boulevard Temple) for the purpose of conducting an increase in capacity inspection. LPA met with director, Ms. Bovill; classroom(s) were measured and inspected for health and safety compliance.
During todays inspection the Temple's Rotunda room and 4 out door play areas were inspected, for the purpose of increasing the preschool capacity form 182 preschoolers to 191 preschoolers and adding a toddler option of 24 children. The class room (Rotunda) will be used for the toddler program ages 18 months to 36 months. The center has an approved fire clearance for 211; 187 preschool children and 24 toddlers in the Rotunda.
The classroom(Rotunda) was equipped with age appropriate furniture and toys in good repair. LPA observed a pull station fire alarm system, a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a posted emergency disaster plan, menus were posted, a first aide/earthquake kit with the required supplies, central air and heating. Children are required to bring back packs to store their belongings, back packs will be hung on individual hooks, no cubbies were observed. Mats and personal linen are used for napping.
Children will have access to a restroom located in the corridor of the rotunda, the rest room was previously designated as an adult woman's restroom, director shall have the signage to reflect the restroom shall be used exclusively for the early education children. There were 8 toilets and 4 sinks, stepping stools were also observed to assist children with utilizing adult sized equipment. LPA observed a purchased changing table to be installed for diapering, licensee will be advised to provide potties chairs or potty seat rings to accommodate |
