25 | On 07/15/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lisa Clayton arrived at the Child Care Center unannounced to conduct a Case Management – Licensee initiated inspection. LPA Clayton was greeted by Director Negin Zomorodi. LPA Clayton observed 46 children in care being supervised by 13 fingerprint cleared staff.
LPA Clayton toured the CCC inside and outside for a Health and Safety inspection.
On July 12, 2024, LPA Clayton received an email from Director Negin advising the department of the plans for the upcoming construction as follows: the construction planned start and end dates are 7/15/2024 to 8/26/2024. “In summary, we will be removing the concrete area at the main entrance and sidewalk area at the existing ADA parking area (near the Seals play area), removing and replacing the four trees at the main entrance, and removing the two trees at the ADA parking nearest the main entrance. The objective is to remove the uneven concrete and replace it to maintain a proper ADA-compliant slope. We will reconfigure the ADA parking to accommodate a van-accessible ADA parking spot, creating a total of three ADA parking spaces. This will include adding detectable warnings at walkways to the parking lot area and re-striping the parking spaces in the center of the parking lot. The planter next to the building will remain and is not part of the scope of the work. The emergency gate at the Seals play area will remain in operation during construction. There will be dust control measures in place and the site will be kept clear of debris. We will try to perform quieter tasks during nap time; nonetheless, it is a construction project and there may be some noise at times. We will do our best to be mindful that we are working in a childcare facility environment.
As described in the email sent to the department and parents, the drop-off time will be limited to 7:30am – 9:15am. There will be a staff member at the gate, greeting parents and children. After the scheduled drop time the gate will remain closed and locked. At pick up time, a staff will be posted at the gate to greet parents. The children enrolled in the Seals classroom will be held in the big yard during the drop-off and pick up hours. Parents were advised to contact the main office if they need to make special arrangements for a particular day, such as bringing their child in later. Pickup time is from 4:00pm – 5:30pm using the Seals Classroom Emergency gate.
