On 5/31/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Loyce Phillips and Tyra Chavies, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPAs met with Director, Olivia Calleja and toured the facility indoors and outdoors.  Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 6:00PM. There were 64 children present with 14 Staff, 1 volunteer and 1 Behavioral Specialist totaling to 16 adults present at the time of visit.
There is no swimming pool but there are other bodies of water on the premises(Water table). Water table does have lids that properly fit on the tops to ensure inaccessibly.  There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises.  Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.  All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards.  All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition.  Floors in the facility are clean and safe. LPA inspected and verified that there is a 2A10BC or higher fire extinguishers on the premises.

An exit interview was conducted with Director, Olivia Calleja.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, the following Technical Advisories were discussed. (See LIC 809)  Licensee was provided a copy of their appeal rights.
A copy of this report was read and given to provider as well as LIC 9213 (Notice of Site Visit form.) LIC 9213 is required to be posted for 30 days.

All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin.  All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors.  Areas around high climbing equipment have cushioning material to absorb falls.  All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free.  The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents.  Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors.
The following were also discussed with the licensing:
  • Assembly Bill 633: The licensee is to provide A LIC 9224 to parents/guardians accepting services and to new parents/guardians the following for 12 months: A copy of any licensing reports that document a Type A citation. The licensee shall post citation for 30 days and during childcare hours.
  • Individuals who are 18 years of age must obtain a criminal record clearance. Failure to obtain a criminal record background check clearances prior to initial presence in the home will result in an immediate $500.00 dollar civil penalty and $100.00 more per day until licensee is in compliance 
  • Senate Bill 792: This bill, commencing September 1st, 2016, prohibits a person from being employed or volunteering at a childcare facility or family day care if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis and measles.
  • New Immunization Requirement: Law enacted by SB 277, beginning January 1st, 2016, personal beliefs exemptions will no longer be an option for the vaccines that are currently required for entry into childcare or school in California. Personal beliefs exemptions already on file will remain valid until the child reaches the next immunization checkpoint.
  • New Appeal Process: A licensee may file an appeal, in writing 15 business days from the date of receiving the penalty assessment.
