Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox met with Loretta Pilafas today for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. Center is also requesting to increase the capacity for the Infant Component from 8 to 16. LPA toured and measured the additional classroom for the capacity increase. There are 2 classrooms (Infant Room A & Infant Room B) and 1 Toddler classroom for a Total of 3 classrooms. This is a combination center with a licensed School-age Component
(197403509) and Preschool component (197403508).
The hours of operation are: 6:00 am to 6:30 Monday through Friday.
LPA measured Infant Room B, Toddler Room, and the outside play yard designated for this group of children.

Infant Room B: 24 X 14 = 336/35 = 9
Toddler Room: 33 X 22 = 726/35 = 21
Outside Play Yard: 60 X 31 = 1,860/75= 25
LPA observed changing tables within arms reach of a sink in both Infant Rooms. Toddlers who are potty training are moved into the PS classroom.
The staff restroom located near the front entrance area, this bathroom is also designated as the isolation bathroom.

**Center provides full lunches (enrolled with the Federal Food Program). Food preparation area/Kitchen was inspected for safety, cleanliness, proper equipment & protection against contamination and storage, menus observed and posted.

**LPA noted age appropriate furniture, equipment, toys and materials. Classrooms were observed to be clean, safe and free of any Health or Safety hazards. Telephone service was verified as well as adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Children's belongings are kept in cubbies along the wall as you enter classrooms and labeled with each child's name. Bedding and linens are stored in individual cubbies or back packs to ensure no bedding or linens encounter other bedding or linens from other children. Drinking water is available inside the classroom in the form of water fountains, water bottles, and filtered water via Brita.

**Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair and age appropriateness. Center utilizes grass on the play yard, there is no high climbing equipment. The area was observed to be free of debris. Outside Drinking water is available in the form of water fountains.

**LPA observed working smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and carbon monoxide detectors throughout center. There is a log of emergency fire/disaster drills; sign in and out sheets contain full legal signatures; License is posted along with other forms that require posting after licensure. Names recorded of Staff and children files reviewed during this inspection. Files reviewed were complete with required forms and documentation including required immunization's; Health Screenings; current CPR and First Aide training; fingerprint clearances, emergency contact information; copies of transcripts with required ECE units.

**Each report (documenting a Type A citation) shall remain posted for 30 days along with the Notice of Site Visit (printed out during this inspection). In addition; all parents of currently enrolled children and any newly enrolled child for the following 12 months shall receive a copy of report documenting a Type A Citation and sign form LIC 9224 acknowledging receipt. Staff are aware of required forms for children's files and forms that shall be posted after licensure.

Files reviewed were complete with required forms and documentation including required immunization's; Health Screenings; current CPR and First Aide training; fingerprint clearances, emergency contact information; copies of transcripts with required ECE units.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Exit interview conducted, copy of report left with Director. There were no violations noted as a result of this unannounced inspection, center is operating within the guidelines of Title 22 Regulations.
