25 | On March 01, 2023 at 8:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh arrived at Kezios Family Day Care for the purpose of conducting an unannounced required 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Fay Kezios, who guided analyst on a tour of the home. This is single story family home with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms with a living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, laundry area and attached converted garage. There is no pool, spa or other bodies of water on the premises.
Present during inspection were Licensee, Licensee's spouse and 2 day care children. Days/hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The home has no pets on the premises.
Main care is provided in the family room, master bedroom #1 and bathroom #1 which is located in the hallway to the left. Children have access to the kitchen, backyard and converted garage. Off limit areas includes the living room, bathroom #2, bedroom #2 and #3. LPA observed a baby gate making the living room inaccessible to children. The backyard is completely fenced, with grass area for active play and has age appropriate toys. LPA observed the converted garage to be safe and secured for children to play with age appropriate toys. There are 3 large cabinets with safety latches on them. Cabinet #1 on the left contains diapers and changing materials. #2 is the food pantry. #3 is a storage area for extra toys and or cleaning supplies.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (stored underneath the kitchen sink with a safety latch, as well as the top cabinet in the laundry room with a safety latch). Medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children were inaccessible. Medications are stored in the top kitchen cabinet with a safety latch. Kitchen knives are stored in a plastic bin in the upper kitchen cabinet to the left of the sink.
