25 | On 7/6/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Tondra Martin. LPA observed 3 children in care. All adults in the home have criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and am/pm snack.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen and detached garage. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition stored on the premises.
The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, dining area, bathroom and detached garage for daily activities. Licensee is aware no eating, sleeping or toileting is allowed in the garage. The children have access to the back yard for outdoor play. LPA observed age appropriate toys, learning materials and equipment indoors. The backyard has 2 storage areas inaccessible to children.
The areas that are off limits to children: All bedrooms, kitchen and the right side of the back yard which is gated off.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. The home has a double sided heater located in the living room and hallway. The heater does not work. LPA observed mats for napping. LPA observed a first aid and emergency kit. There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in kitchen. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is 310-978-4967.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid was completed on 2/28/2023. 809-C.
