On 2/11/2020, Licensing Program Analyst's (LPAs) Helen Estrella and Karren Starks conducted an unannounced 1-year required inspection to the facility. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Amber Bravo and Assistant Director Yvette Martinez and informed the nature of the visit. There were 32 preschool children and 10 toddlers at the facility with a total of 8 staff and Directors. LPAs was guided on a tour (inside and outside).

The facility consists of a preschool with a toddler component. LPAs observed the following teacher to child ratios: DPS room: 14 children being supervised by 3 staff; PS room: 12 children being supervised by 2 staff; Pre-K room: 6 children being supervised by 1 staff; and Toddler A: 10 children being supervised by 2 staff.

LPAs inspected the following areas identified on the facility sketch. LPAs observed fully equipped 2A10BC fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the hallway, equipped first aid kit and required postings on parent board. Sign in/out sheet matched physical census of children observed. Furniture and equipment appears in good repair and is age appropriate. Heating, lighting and ventilation is adequate. LPAs observed drinking water. There are 3 toilets and 3 sinks for preschoolers and 3 sinks and 2 toilets available for toddlers. Toilets and sinks are operable. There is sufficient restroom materials for children. Menu was observed and allergy list posted in the kitchen and all classrooms. LPAs observe adequate storage for children's belongings. There are sufficient cots and mats available for children in care. Disinfectants, cleaning supplies are out of children's reach. Food preparation area appears adequately equipped, clean and free of hazards. LPA reviewed CPR Pediatric First Aid for staff valid through 03/28/2020.

LPAs observed outdoor play space. Climbing equipment, swings, slides and other play equipment appears age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate shading and drinking water available outside. Playground appeared free of miscellaneous debris.

LPA reviewed children's files and facility has required licensing forms in file. There are no bodies of water present at the facility.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee was made aware of The Child Care Advocate Program (CCAP) that is administered from within the Community Care Licensing Division. CCAP participates in many community activities and special projects to disseminate information on the State’s licensing role, provide information to the public and parents on child care licensing, and provide many other helpful resources to the licensees and the public. The licensee was informed of the responsibility to report suspected Child Abuse by calling the Child Abuse Hot line at 1-800-540-4000. Also call the CCL office within 24 hours of the Unusual Incident and follow up with a written Unusual Incident/Injury Report (LIC 624B) within 7 business days.



Lead Bill - Health & Safety Code 1596.7996. Licensee was made aware of AB 2370, requiring a licensed child day care center located in a building constructed before January 1, 2010, to have its drinking water tested for lead contamination and to let parents or legal guardians of children enrolled about the requirement to test and result of the tests.

The facility is operating within substantial compliance. A copy of this report was provided and exit interview conducted.
