32 | **Teacher/child ratio observed, care and supervision were discussed, 6 children's records were reviewed, parent board observed and fire drills are current (done monthly). Fire extinguishers operable observed in every Classroom all with a service tag of February 12, 2020 .
*Trash cans/storage containers for solid waste had tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair.
*First Aid supplies were inventoried, a review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, and storage. LPA also noticed Emergency Supply bins in every Classroom. *Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated.
*Outdoor area and equipment were inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness, LPA noted shade from a high tarp, padded rails, over 16 bikes, a bike trek, 5 tables for outdoor activities, , Hoops and balls, 2 slide sets, 2 swing sets, a sand pit and drinking water provided by pitchers and disposable cups. There are no bodies of water on the premises.
*Isolation area was noticed to be next to the Teacher's table.
ADMINISTRATION:
*Director is aware that the Department has full inspection authority as specified in Health and Safety Code 1596.852, 1596.853, and 1596.535.
*There were no excluded individuals present; staff present were fingerprint cleared and associated, LPA and Director reviewed Personnel Report (LIC 500) together during this inspection.
A review of medication policy indicated that prescription medication is administered only with parent's written permission. The Classroom Teacher administers medication and documents the dosage, date and time onto a log. Medication brought and taken home by the parent daily. Medication is properly labeled and stored in its original container. Site supervisor indicated that all staff undergo training for medication administration.
*Center was found to be operating within its specified ratio and capacity.
* Electronic and back-up Sign in and Out sheets were inspected and observed to be up to date.
A sampling of 6 children’s files was reviewed and contained emergency contact information, staff files were reviewed and contained qualifications. LPA recommended that the staff files be revamped and there be at least 1 file for each staff.
