25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Isabel Ortega conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA met with licensee Celia and Marisela Hernandez who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility at 3:30 p.m. Also present today is Licensee’s Assistant (fingerprint cleared). Upon entry to the facility the LPA observed no child under care.
This is a one story single-family home with an attached garage and a shed in the back yard. There is a children's playroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms and two restrooms. Main care is provided in the children's playroom. The children use the bathroom located to the right of the kitchen. The off-limits areas are all three bedrooms, kitchen, second bathroom, living room, garage and the shed in the back yard utilized for storage.
The day care home provides breakfast, am snack, lunch, p.m. snack, and dinner as needed. According to Licensee she is currently participating in a food nutrition program. The operating child care hours are Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Children eat near the dining room on age appropriate table with chairs.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The knives are kept in the kitchen in a magnetic lock drawer. All cleaning chemicals are stored in the garage and maintained locked with a key. Medication is stored on the top kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children.
There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. Per the licensee there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility. The LPA did not observe any weapons. |
