25 | On December 3, 2019 at 8:45am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loyce Phillips met with the facility Director, Janet Bartlett for the purpose of an Annual/Random inspection. There were 15 preschool children upon arrival. There were two teachers and the director on the premises. The center offers full day and part time admission. The facility utilizes four classrooms, but the center currently using two preschool classrooms at moment. The centers hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 11:30am for program 1 and 8:00am to 12:30pm for program 2. During this inspection, LPA toured the facility, observed equipment/supplies and reviewed a sample of children and staff files. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed. The center currently has no children requiring IMS.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, good repair, cleanliness and safety. Telephone service was verified. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were observed to be in operable condition.
Each classroom has one bathroom which includes 1 toilet and 1 sink inside. LPA observed soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Staff restroom is off limits and inaccessible to children. CPR and First Aid expire 09/21/21. Mandated Reporter Certificate for Child Care is current. Assistant Director is aware that Mandated Reporter training must be taken every 2 years.
