25 | On December 26, 2024, @ 11:10 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee, Araceli Ortega. Currently, the above daycare has 10 children enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there was 1 child present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible via child safety gates. This One-story home was inspected as follows: living room area (day care), kitchen, back yard area (day care), and one bathroom. All poisons are kept above the washing machine area in the back yard, which is inaccessible to children in care via locked doors. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Medication is kept in a first aide kit in a high cabinet in the living room out of reach of children. There is a working fire extinguisher (2A-10BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is 3106587054. The indoor play area is in the living room, and back yard area. The children reside here while in care. There are locked doors, child safety gates, and child safety knobs keeping the children in the day care area. There are cots for children in the day care . Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 6/26/2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
