25 | On 4/28/2022 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee Hortencia Gutierrez. LPA observed 9 children in care and 1 assistant. All adults present have a criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:45am to 5:00pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. The current facility sketch was reviewed and Licensee confirmed that living room, dining area, bedroom #1, #2, #3, bathroom #1, #2 detached garage and additional room with kitchen and bedroom (next to garage) is off limits to children and made inaccessible.
The areas that are accessible to children: The main day care room is located to the right side of the home. The parents enter on the side of the home close to the alley, to access the backyard to enter day care room. The kitchen, family room, bedroom #4, bathroom #3 (located next to day care room) and backyard. The backyard is fenced and accessible for outdoor activities for children.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible and kept under the kitchen cabinet and the laundry area inaccessible to children.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. Children sleep on mats. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 301-9787.
