Licensing Program Analyst, V. Wheatley conducted an Annual inspection and met with Site Supervisor Alisa Gonzalez at 12:00PM. The program is a half day program which operates from 8am to 11 am and 12:15pm to 3:15pm. LPA toured the classroom #K2 in accordance with the facility sketch. LPA observed children inside of the classroom playing with age appropriate equipment. The staff are operating within proper ratios.

Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. The telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation is adequate. There are cubbies for children's belongings. There is a first aid kit on the premises. LPA observed detergents, chemicals and electrical outlets inaccessible to children. LPA observed several age appropriate toys and educational materials. The children bring water bottles which are labeled or they are provided bottled water. LPA observed two portable fans for ventilation. The wall heater is inaccessible. LPA observed trash bins with lids. The children bring a change of clothes in their backpacks. The door to the room attached to the classroom will remain closed at all times.

A review of medication policy indicated that medication is administered with the doctor's authorization and parent's permission. There is a health clerk and nurse on the school premises daily. There is a mat for ill children and isolation area in the school office. LPA informed the site supervisor with regards to Incidental Medical Services. There are no children enrolled receiving Incidental Medical Services.

The toilets and faucets were inspected and are functioning properly. There is toilet paper, soap and paper towels in the restroom. The water temperature is appropriate.

Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water observed. There are no bodies of water. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic need of children are met and appropriate. There is drinking water taken outside for the children to freely drink. There is an area for shade and rest on the paved yard. A bench will be moved for the other

Staff was questioned to determine their familiarity of emergency reporting requirements, emergency disaster plans and other site operations. Personal rights of children were discussed. There are emergency and disaster packs on the premises. A fire or earthquake drill is held every month with the main elementary school. Staff were reminded children are to be supervised at all times. The children are transported by bus for off-site field trips once a year. Other trips are drop off/pick up by parents.

LPA inspected the food preparation area. The staff provide a morning and afternoon snack from two food groups. LPA observed 1% milk and 100% juice in the refrigerator. LPA observed a snack menu posted. Children with food allergies are placed on the refrigerator and on the menu in a confidential folder.

Sign in and out sheets were reviewed and are complete. The required documents and menus are posted on the parent board. Children and staff records were reviewed at 1:30PM. Teachers have current CPR which expires October 2021. Additional forms and child care quarterly updates may be obtained at the department's website www.ccld.ca.gov

There are no violations according to Title 22 Regulations.
