25 | On 04/03/2024 at 12:45pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittanee Cleveland conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility at. LPA was greeted by Licensee, Janet Smith, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. LPA provided licensee with a copy LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to facilitate inspection. This is an a Large Family Child Care Home of 12 children-ages 3 to 5 years of age. Upon arrival, Licensee told LPA that she has been inactive with the daycare since 2020. There were no children in care.
Home is a 1-story dwelling with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Children would only have access to the rear living room space, a playroom and restroom. The kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are off limits to children. The valve on the 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates to be fully charged and purchased in 2023. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and operable.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in home.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is a telephone line that is used and stays within facility. The ventilation and heating observed to be screened.
Licensee states she does not care for infants.
