25 | On 7/27/023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Maritza Montoya, LPA observed 11 children in care today with 3 staff. All adults have criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with living room, kitchen, laundry room and detached garage. The home have a carport area and bathroom located outside. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition stored on the premises.
The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, bathroom (inside the home), kitchen, laundry room, carport, garage and driveway area for outdoor activities. Licensee is aware that eating, sleeping and toileting is not allowed in the garage area and shall be conducted in the main house. LPA observed age appropriate toys, learning materials and equipment indoors and outdoors.
The areas that are off limits to children: all bedrooms, back yard and extended back yard.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. The home has a wall heater located in the hallway inaccessible to children. LPA observed children napping on cots. There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the laundry room serviced on 3/18/2023. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310)422-6103.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
LPA reviewed a sample of children's files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee mandated reporter training was completed on 6/23/2022. Licensee pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 3/27/2024. A review of records indicates that all employees have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles 809-C.
