Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox met with the center Director, Ms Jessica today for the purpose of conducting a Case Management inspection to measure classrooms for a capacity increase inspection. Today LPA measured a total of 4 classrooms and the Outside play yard. The center is currently licensed for 60 PS children, however, they are requesting to increase the capacity to 120 PS children.

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:

Room #3 - 24 X 35 = 840/35 = 24

Room #4- 24 X 35 = 840/35 = 24

Room #5 - 25 X 35 = 875/35 = 25

Room #6 - 24 X 34 = 816/35 = 23

Total - 95

There are 2 separate bathrooms for children (Boys and Girls).

Boys - 4 toilets, 1 urinal, and 5 sinks (1 sink and 2 toilets were inoperable during this inspection).

Girls - 5 toilets and 5 sinks = 75 (2 toilets were inoperable during this inspection.

Total capacity with toilets and sinks = 135

OUTDOOR PLAY YARD

70 X 50 = 3,500/75 = 47

Triangular area - 42 X 70 = 2940/2 = 1470/75 = 20

Total Outdoor Play Space = 67 (waiver will be required)

A Fire clearance was received for the requested capacity, however, with measurements taken today, LPA can approve a capacity of 95 PS children and a waiver will be required for the outside play space (LPA explained the process for requesting the waiver).
