25 | On 9/02/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ranita Richmond conducted an unannounced Random/ Annual Inspection for the above-named Preschool Child Care Center (CCC). Center is licensed for 72 children, ages 2 through 5 years old. LPA met with Director Joanne Grey. LPA Richmond toured the facility indoors and outdoors and observed 23 children in care, being supervised and cared for appropriately by 6 fingerprint cleared staff members. Facility hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:45am – 4:00pm.
Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained.
All children are under visual supervision of a teacher at all times. The CCC is in compliance with Title 22 regulations regarding Staff to Student ratios. LPA Richmond advised Director of the importance of sign in/sign out using the full first and last name of the parent/authorized representative and time of checking the child in and out daily.
There are no swimming pools, ponds, or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
LPA Richmond observed 1 (one) fully charged 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher in each classroom (toddler, preschool 1 and preschool 2) as well as one fully charged fire extinguisher inside the kitchen. LPA Richmond observed working carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Fire alarms are wired to the Pull Fire Alarm system. System was last inspected in August 2024.
All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. LPA inspected the classrooms and observed age-appropriate toys, books and furnishings. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Director advised that sand is raked and sprayed with bleach daily.
