On 05/09/19, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karren Starks made an announced visit for the purpose of conducting a Case Management inspection for a capacity increase. The facility is looking to increase the capacity from 48 to 64 children. The facility has an granted STD850 from LA City Fire for a capacity of 64. LPA met with the Director, Luis Morales and observe proper teacher/child ratios with 44 napping children.

The space that the facility is requesting to use is located just outside of the currently licensed area to the right. LPA observed the proposed increase area to have age appropriate furniture and toys. The ventilation, heating and lighting for the area is adequate. The room is in good repair. The concern LPA has with the room is that the main carpet in the area is soiled, there are area rugs in place for the children to sit on during floor time. Per the Director once the increase is approved they will move forward with removing the carpet and having new flooring installed. LPA advised they have the carpet cleaned in the mean time. Director agreed.

The additional indoor area measured:
655.76 divided by 35 for a total of 18 children in the new area
With an additional 3 toilets and 2 sinks
The outdoor area measured:
3958.21 divided by 75 for a total of 52 children

Based on the measurements and area observed the facility is ready for the increase to a capacity of 64. Prior to granting the increase the following must be met no later 06/09/19:
1) Facility must have carpet in additional room cleaned
2) Decision by LPM must be made for outdoor waiver request.
3) Carbon Monoxide Detector must be obtained for additional space
