Licensing Program Analyst, V. Wheatley conducted an annual inspection and met with licensee Jeanne Yu at 1:15PM. The other licensee is present. LPA observed 9 day care children of which three children are infants. The children are allowed in the living room and family room. LPA observed the children napping in the family room. The bedrooms are off limits. The home is clean and organized.

LPA observed a working smoke detector, charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher and working telephone. The electrical outlets are covered and inaccessible. There are several age appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. LPA observed the children napping on cots. The home has central heating. LPA observed a properly screened fireplace. All detergents, cleaning supplies, medications and sharp objects shall be inaccessible. LPA observed the bedroom near the family room with a door knob cover. There is a child proof gate at the entrance of the day care room. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises.

LPA inspected the fenced backyard. The children only play in front of the garage. The garage door remains closed. The rear yard is off-limits. There are no bodies of water and no pets on the premises. Licensees have CPR /first aid that expires August 2020.

The licensee does not provide any Incidental Medical Services for children at this time.
Licensee was informed to submit a plan to the department if caring for these children.

LPA reviewed children's records at 2PM. The records are complete. The following forms shall be given to the parents to complete prior to enrollment: LIC 627 (Emergency Consent), LIC 700 (ID & Emergency), LIC 702 (Health History), LIC 613A (Personal Rights), LIC 995A (Parent's Rights), LIC 995E (Important Information for Parents), LIC 282 (Affidavit Liability Insurance). Immunization records shall be kept on blue cards from the local health department. Title 22 Regulations, child care updates and additional information may be obtained at the department's website www.ccld.ca.gov

LPA discussed discipline policies, personal rights, civil penalties and appeal rights. LPA informed licensee of regulations regarding reporting unusual incidents and injuries within 24 hours. In addition, licensee was informed that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home and visiting on a frequent basis must be fingerprint cleared prior to being on the premises.

LPA reminded licensee that all infants must be placed on their backs when sleeping to prevent S.I.D.S. (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Also no smoking is allowed on a day care premises. Never shake a baby to prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome. Children may only be in high chairs if they are eating. Hands must be washed after every diaper change. No baby walkers, exersaucers or baby bouncers are allowed on day care premises. LPA did not observe any of these items on the premises.

The licensee has the required forms posted for parents to view.

There are no violations according to Title 22 Regulations.
