On 08/23/19, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karren Starks made an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting an Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with and toured the facility with co-licensee, Barbara Vaughn-Brown and assistant, Micaha Davis. This is a single story 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with kitchen, family room, living room, dining room, laundry room, and child care room (converted garage with permits). There is no pool, spa or other bodies of water on the premises. Family members residing in the home include 3 adults (co-licensee's and son/grandson who is currently away at college). There is one small dog (caged in the family room area).
Main care is provided in the child care room. Steps leading to child care area (adjacent to the kitchen) has a gate. Children use the bathroom located in the child care room, which was inspected and LPA did not observe any medications, cleaning compounds or detergents that would pose a risk to children in care.. The backyard was observed there was no debris or hazards, LPA viewed the area that has a climbing apparatus and other outdoor equipment. Off limit areas include the entire home: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, living, dining and family rooms, laundry area and kitchen, the areas are made inaccessible by a door. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed with the co-licensee, they will not be provided at this time.

Entrance into the facility is via side door on the north side of the home. Per co-licensee, there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility at this time. LPA did not observe any weapons. There are age appropriate toys and napping equipment on the premises. Children nap in playpens and cots in the main care room. The required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) and smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector are in operable condition. Fireplace is properly screened (in living room). Home has central AC and heat. Pediatric CPR/First Aid expires 10/2020. First Aid kit was observed and is complete. The facility has the required postings. LPA observed Mandated Reporter Certificates for licensee's.
