On 12/12/2019 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Chandler made an unannounced visit to the above facility for the purpose of following up on a self reported incident report. The incident involved a preschool child who disclosed to the parent that the school bus teacher hit the child on the back of the neck and on the leg.

During todays visit LPA interviewed the principal regarding the details of the incident in which she reiterated what she had disclosed on the incident report. The principal provided LPA with a copy of the police report number and the attending officer.

While interviewing the principal the parent came to pick up the child. LPA Chandler interviewed the parent regarding the incident, again the parent reiterated what was disclosed in the incident report. The parent also allowed LPA to view a recording of them asking the child what happened, the child told the parent that "the teacher hit me" , parent asked which teacher and the child said the bus teacher. The child demonstrated a hit on the back of the neck and on the leg.

The mother allowed LPA Chandler to interview the child. The child disclosed to LPA that the teacher hit her, and again the child demonstrated the same hitting pattern. When asked which teacher the child did not respond.

There is a pending investigation with the Los Angeles Police Department, the department will review and follow up on the incident once all investigations are complete.

At this time the department has not determined a conclusion regarding the incident.
