On September 20,2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jillinda Chandler made an announced visit to the Leap and Bound Academy, Redondo Beach day care center for the purpose of conducting a Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection. The Licensee is requesting to decrease their preschool program's capacity from 120 to 60 preschool children, ages 2-5 years. The day care center has a pending infant program (# 197495286). The licensee plans to use three sections of the lower level ( minus the infant area) and two sections of the upper level; the upper area is divided into four sections for the preschool. Section 1 near the inside stair case and section two in the middle of the room will be dedicated to the preschool. The two sections near the outside stair case were not included in todays calculations and shall not be used by the preschool children.

The day care was measured inside and out and the following measurements were considered when determining the capacity.

Indoor measurements were 2597.91 for a total of 74 children
Outdoor measurements were 4961.03 for a total of 66 children
Sink totals = 11
Toilets totals = 8

Based on todays inspection the day care shall be recommended for a capacity of 60 children determined by the licensee requested capacity.

An exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report was discussed and provided to Charles Thacker (owner) and Erin Tamashiro (director).
