25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on May 14, 2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 12:45pm, identified self and met with Claudia Alvarado, Licensee/facility representative who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. Also present during inspection was licensee’s assistant, Delmy Alvarado. Per licensee, they currently have one assistant. LPA observed 1 infant upon arrival. Per Licensee, operation hours are 6:00am to 6:45pm Monday through Friday. There are 9 children that are currently enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, front yard, and backyard (fenced). LPA observed a pool in the backyard. LPA observed that during today’s inspection, the pool meets title 22 requirements. LPA did not observe spas, hot tubs, fishponds, or additional bodies of water during the inspection. The children use the bathroom in the dining room near bedroom #1.
LPA observed 1 bathroom in backyard attached to the home. LPA observed one small dog that is inaccessible to children in care during operation hours. The dog stays in a bedroom in the hallway that is off-limits. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: All 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The licensee provides food for children in care. Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via landline and a cellphone. There is ventilation and heating via fans and installed air conditioner. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and is new. The receipt is dated 08/17/2023. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. |
