On 09/28/2021 at 10:15AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Denise Do Amaral Miranda conducted an unannounced case management inspection to the facility to ensure the health and safety standards as required governing California family child care homes. LPA met Geetha Sugunan, Director and discussed the reason of the visit. LPA confirmed that all adults working in the home have criminal record. There were 09 children in care at the time of inspection with the 2 Teachers (1 Teacher and 1 Teacher Assistant) and Director.

On 08/20/2021, Director informed to the El Segundo Regional Office that facility is remodeling and expanding the teacher’s lounge, front office, principal office. Per report the facility will complete the construction on the end of October/2021. Per director, during the construction, children in care do not have access to the area in construction.
Licensee guided LPA on a tour (inside and outside) of the facility and at the construction area and construction area match with sketch provided. LPA observed the construction area is inaccessible to the children in care and fence was placed at the outdoor area. LPA observed no children at the construction area. Director provided to LPA Miranda a copy of the application for building permit and certificate of occupancy of the City of Los Angeles.
Due the COVID-19, per Director, isolation area was moved to the Auditorium area. The Auditorium has been converted as a temporarily Principal’s office and Administrator’s office. Per Director, no activity is conducting at the auditorium area. LPA reviewed the new isolation area, located at the auditorium area and Director agreed to submit photos showing the new isolation area, will be separate from the elementary school and the area will be label and will be used only for children care center program.
Director will maintain the construction area inaccessible to the children. A Fire Safety Inspection will be request after Facility inform LPA Miranda that the facility’s construction is complete. After construction is done, a subsequent visit will be conduct. An exit interview was conducted with Geetha Sugunan, Director. A copy of this report being provided to Director.
