25 | On 02/13/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lourdes Castellanos conducted an unannounced required 1 year Inspection. LPA provided Licensee with the purpose of the visit and was granted access to the facility. LPA met with Teresita Scott. Licensee. LPA toured the inside and outside of the property at 9:30 am with the Licensee. LPA observed 6 children in care supervised by licensee and an assistant, Moyah Diaz. (2 infants, 4 toddlers). Facility is license for a capacity 14 children. Hours of operation are from 6 am- 6pm, Monday through Friday. Facility is operating within capacity limitations. All adults were fingerprinted and associated to the facility.
This is a 1 story, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with kitchen, and living room. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Off limit areas include the home's bedroom#2, and detached garage. Off limits areas are behind locked doors making rooms inaccessible to children in care.
Main care is provided in the living room of the home and bedroom #1. Main care area was observed to have age appropriate furniture, games, toys, napping equipment, changing table and activities. Licensee use bedroom #1 of the home for napping. Children use the restroom located in the hallway. Restroom was observed clean and free of hazards. All chemicals and detergents are in locked cabinet in kitchen. The kitchen area was inspected for proper storage of chemicals, detergents, cleaning compounds, and sharp pointed objects. All items were made inaccessible to children. Kitchen/bathroom drawers do not have latches but items were inaccessible.
Children use front yard for outdoor play. Age appropriate toys and furniture was observed clean and in good repair. LPA observed perimeter fencing for safety, grass for children in care. All plants, trees and shrubs are maintained neat and clean. Licensee stated that there are no firearms kept on the premises and no pets.
